The Purpose of Psychotherapy is

To Support Meaningful Change

Are you looking for a safe, confidential space to explore life stressors or work through trauma for yourself or your child?

I'm glad you're here. Just the fact that you've found yourself exploring potential resources that might help ease any pain and suffering, provide support, and build strategies for coping is something to be celebrated. Life can be very hard, and sometimes people need some extra support as they make their way along their journey.

About

About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in VT and NH with over 16 years of experience, and I have been trained in evidence-based and promising practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

I have worked with adults of all ages and their families, crisis assessment and response, and children, youth, and families in direct care, clinical oversight, and leadership prior to opening my private practice. I am passionate about working with individuals and their families to help understand what their experiences have been and help to better understand the impact that may have on their current functioning.

I believe that behavior is communication, and I seek to understand what people are trying to communicate even when they don't yet have the language or can't find the strength or safety to use their voice. I believe that people do the best that they can, even when their best is leaving them experiencing crippling anxiety or depression. I believe in meaningful change, and that there is hope for healing for each and every person.

For most people, deep down there is a desire for human connection and belonging, and sometimes it starts with a single change. I believe in taking things one step at a time and on the really challenging days, simply doing the next right thing until it becomes a little easier to set new goals. I believe in praise and unconditional positive regard. I believe in digging deep to the root of the problem in order to be able to promote healing and sustain meaningful change. I support my clients through their journey in working through their change process as they address whatever mental health struggles they might be facing, and I do so with empathy, transparency, and compassion.
